Job Title: Business Development Manager
Hours: Permanent – Full Time
Reports To: Head of Commercial and Marketing
Salary: Dependent on experience
Job Purpose:
An exciting opportunity working as a Business Development Manager for Sugro UK National Wholesale Buying Group based in Nantwich, Cheshire. Working with and reporting to our Head of Commercial and Marketing
Key responsibilities:
• New Member Recruitment. Generate leads; identify potential Members and work all available channels to secure an initial presentation to the potential Members
• Researching, identifying, and developing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
• Developing new business in line with company’s strategic growth plan
• Contributing to the overall growth of the business
• Fostering and developing relationships with both current and potential Members
• Nurturing existing Member accounts to uncover incremental opportunities
• Meeting Members both virtually and in person
• Representing the company during business meetings, with a comprehensive understanding of the full company offering and strategic priorities
• Managing and maintaining company CRM system
• Understanding the needs of the Members and being able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these needs
• Working close with other departments within the business
• Executing key business initiatives with the Members
• Providing support on business ad hoc projects, when required
• Data project management
• Working with Suppliers on key opportunities for the Group
• Presenting at conferences and industry events
Key skills and competencies:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar sales role
• Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to leverage sophisticated selling techniques
• Communication & Relationship Building Skills
• Ability to present
• Experience of converting new leads into new successful business
• Cold calling experience
• Ability to develop and retain existing Members
• Ability and commitment to travel frequently to visit new and existing Members
• A confident sales professional who can identify, nurture, and convert leads into sales.
• A proven sales track record and a strong focus on Member development
• Able to demonstrate strong networking capabilities.
• Show initiative and be able to impress with your energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge.
• Able to present qualified solutions verbally and in written form to various stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
